- Root (the period/full stop between the TLD and domain)
- Top-level domain (TLD)
- e.g., com, ca, gov, etc.
- Domain name (2nd level domain)
- google, yahoo, etc.
- Subdomain
- www, maps, mail, etc.
- The TLD, Root, and Domain name (e.g., google.com) form the "Root Domain"
